Online Safety

At Colebrook Infant Academy, safeguarding our pupils in the digital world is just as important as keeping them safe in the physical classroom. While the internet offers wonderful opportunities for our young learners to explore, play, and learn, navigating it safely requires a strong partnership between school and home. We are dedicated to teaching our children how to become responsible, confident digital citizens through age-appropriate online safety lessons. This webpage provides essential resources, top tips and practical guides to help parents and carers protect our happy, curious children while using devices, apps and games at home.

Keeping Children Safe Online

There is a lot of support available to keep your child safe online. Below are some more useful links to

help parents and carers:

Misinformation or Disinformation?

  • Misinformation: False or misleading information shared without the intent to cause harm. For example, someone might share an inaccurate news story because they believe it to be true.
  • Disinformation: False information deliberately created and spread to mislead or deceive, often with harmful intent. This can be used to spread hatred or support conspiracy theories.
